James Wood Esquire Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia To all to whom 
these Presents shall come Greeting. Know ye that by Virtue of a Land Office 
Treasury Warrant Number twelve thousand five hundred and forty one, issued the 
twenty sixth day of June one thousand seven hundred and eighty two, 
There is Granted by the said Commonwealth unto Nathaniel Thacker, a certain 
tract or parcel of Land Containing two hundred and twenty Acres, by survey 
bearing date the twenty third day of December one thousand seven hundred and 
ninety five, lying and being in the County of Pittsylvania on the Bear skin 
Creek, and bounded as followeth to Wit, Beginning at his corner white oak in 
Piggs old line, 
thence new lines North seventy seven degrees East ninety poles [sic] 
poles crossing long branch to a white oak, 
south seventy two degrees East fifteen poles to Carter and Proctors corner 
Hickory 
and thence along their lines south forty one degrees East one hundred poles 
crossing long branch aforesaid to a white Oak 
south seventy nine degrees East one hundred and twenty poles to a white ["oak" 
inserted] in George

Plexcoes line and along the same South twenty one degrees West forty six poles 
to a black oak along Carter and Proctors line, 
south forty three degrees West ninety seven poles to a Hickory 
thence along John Hodges's new line North four degrees West fifty seven poles 
crossing the head of a branch and the Office road to a red oak, 
West forty four poles to a red oak 
south seventy two degrees West seventy poles to a two black Oaks 
South forty degrees West fifty four poles to a red oak 
south seventy seven degrees West forty three poles to a white Oak on said Road 
North eighty five degrees West sixteen poles to the said Thackers corner post 
oaks in Piggs old line aforesaid 
and along the same North two hundred Poles to the beginning, 
with its appurtenances to have and to hold the said tract or parcel of Land 
with its appurtenances to the said Nathaniel Thacker and his Heirs forever 
In Witness whereof the said James Wood Esquire Governor of the Commonwealth of 
Virginia hath hereunto Set his hand and caused the lesser seal of the said 
Commonwealth to be Affixed: at Richmond on the nineteenth day of July  In the 
year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety seven, and of the 
Commonwealth the Twenty second
