Lovell and Richard Gross 16 September 1826 Pittsylvania County 115 acres on the head waters of Bannister River Source: Land Office Grants No. 75, 1826-1827, p. 343 (Reel 141). Margin Notes: Samuel M. Lovell & c., 115 acres, Pittsylvlania, Excd. & Gt. dated to Capn Witcher, bearer of sect. Decm. 5. 1826. John Tyler, Esq, Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia: To all to whom these presents shall come, Greeting; Know yes, that in conformity with a Survey, made on the thirteenth day of May 1825, by virtue of the Land office Treasury warrants [illegible] 15 acres by No 7305 [illegible] October 8th 1822; and 100 acres by No 7920 April 12th 1825 there is granted, by the said Commonwealth, unto Samuel M. Lovell and Richard Gross; A certain Tract or parcel of land, containing One Hundred and fifteen acres, situated in the County of Pittsylvania on the head waters of Bannister river, and bounded as followeth to wit: Beginning at Parkers corner pointers, thence with her lines; North sixty five degrees west, sixteen poles to a red oak, thence North eighty eight degrees west, one hundred and fifteen poles to Harts corner white oak; thence with his line South twelve degrees East; one hundred and eighty poles crossing Banister river and a small branch to a chestnut tree in Breedings line; thence along his line North Eight five degrees East fifty eight poles crossing the aforesaid branch to Mitchell's corner red oak; thence along his line North seventy three degrees East, one hundred and fifty four poles crossing the aforesaid river to the beginning To have and to hold the said tract or parcel of Land, with it appurtenances, to the said Samuel M. Lovell & Richard Gross and their heirs forever.
