Deed Book 7 Page 723-724 Pittsylvania Courthouse, Chatham, VA Copied by Richard Price Parsons from Griffith This Indenture made this eighteenth day of December in the yer of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty six between William Griffith of Pittsylvania County of the one part and David Parsons of said County of the other part witnesseth that the said William Griffith for and in the consideration of the sum of eight pounds current money money of Virginia to him in hand paid by the said David Parsons the receipt whereof the said William Griffith doth hereby acknowledge and ????????????acquit exonerate and discharge the said David Parsons and by these presents he the said William Griffeth hath bargained granted and sold infu???and confirmd unto the said David Parsons one certain track or parsel of land containing by estamation one hundred acres be the same more or less being and lying in the county aforesaid on the branches of CherryStone Creek it being part of a tract formerly the property of William Griffith desd and bounded as followeth, Viz, beginning at a white oak on a branch thence south seventy six Degress East one hundred and fifty poles crossing a branch to a hisckory thence south seventy and half degs West to a red oak thence new line maked by Jonathan Rigny to a white oak on a branch thence down the sd branch to the old line to have and to hold the sd one hundred acres of land and premises with all its appertences thereunto belonging to the sd David Parsons his heirs and assignes for himself and his heirs and the said William Griffeth for himself his heirs executors or administrators were and he has said doth warrant and forever defend the above mentioned land and premises and from all and every other person or persons whosoever In Witness whereof he the said William Griffith had set his hand and seal the day and date first William (his mark) Giffith Signd Seald and delivered in the presents of At a court held for Pittsylvania County the 18th day of Der 1786 the within indenture was acknowledged by the within named William Griffith to be his act and deed and the same was ordered to be recorded by the court Test Will Turnstall Book 8 page 36 Jones' Deed from Griffeth Pittsylvania Courthouse, Chatham, VA Copied by Richard Price This indenture made this seventeenth day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty seven between Jonathan Grifeth of Pittsylvania County and Parrish of Cambden of the one part and William Jones of the County and Parrish aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that the said Jonathan Griffeth for and in the consideration of the sum of thirty pounds current money of Virginia to him in hand paid by the sd William Jones the receipt whereof he the sd Jonathan Griffith doth hereby acknowledge he hath granted, bargaind and sold and by these presents doth grant bargain and seel alimnate infer gand confirm unto the sd William Jones one sartain trackt or parssel of land containing one hundred acres be the same more or less lying and being in the County of Pittsylvania on the Waters of Little Cherry Stone Creek and bounded as followeth, to wit, Beginning at a hickory in the old line thence North seventy eight degrees West one hundred and fifty two poles crossing a branch to a shight oake thence South twelve degrees West one hundred and six poles to red Oake in the old line, thence new line south eight three East one hundred and seventy poles crossing two branches to Paynters in the old line, thence North forty four poles to the beginning To have and to hold the above mentioned land and premisses with all the appertainences therunto belonging unto the sd William Jones his heirs and assigns for ever and against him the said Jonathan Griffeth and his heirs and he the sd Jonathan Griffeth for him self and his heirs doth warrant and for ever defend the above mentioned land and premisses with all its appertainences thereunto belonging from all and every other person right or claime therto in witness whereof he the said Jonathan Griffeth hath herunto set his hand and seal this seventeenth day of April one thousand seven hundred and eighty seven Jonathan Griffeth S.S. At a court held for Pittsylvania County the 16th day of April 1787 The within indenture was by the sinthin named Jonathan Griffeth acknowledged to be his act and desd and the same was ordered to be recorded by the Court Teste Will Tunstall C page 376 Turley Senr from Griffeth This indenture made the 7th day of April in the year of our Lord Christ one thousand eight hundred seven between William Griffeth of the county of Pittsylvania state of Virginia of the one part and Thomas Turley Senr of the same county of the other part in witness whereof the said William Griffith for and in consideration of the sum of thirty pounds good and lawfull money of Virginia to him in hand paid by the said Thomas Turlley Sener at or le?? or the ??????? and deg????? of these present the recept whereof is hearby acknowledged hath barggen sold released confirmed unto the said Thomas Turlley Sener his heirs assasins forever a certain tract of piece or parceal of land situate lying and being in the County of Pitsylvania containing fifty acres of alnd be the same more or less lieing on both sides of Cherrey STone Creek bounded as followeth to sit, beging on a corner maple at the mouth of the maple bransch, thence up the south branch to corner poplar on the said bransh then on the sideline to corner post oak, on the said line thence to corner red oak thence a straight deviding line to corner post oak, thece a straight line to corner post alk on the old line, thence a new dividing line to corner maple in the creek, thence dow the dreek to the beginning with all woods, ways water and water courses fences trees orchards the uses and all other emoluments appertaining or in any wise belong thereunto, buld to hold to him the said Thomas Turlley Sr his heirs and assigns forever against me my heirs and my wife Juleah her heirs or either of us or our heirs and all other persons or ????? whatsoever therein law or equity recovering claming or having any just right title or esate therein but as by these present forever warrant and defend the land and premesses above mentioned to the said Thomas Turlley Sr his heirs and successors to hold ful enjoy the same in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this day and year above written and in the thirty second year of the commonweath Singed Sealed and Delivered in the presents of William Griffeth Joseph Midkiff, James Turlley Jr. Jailey Griffeth At a court held for Pittsylvania County the 20 day of July 1807 this indenture from Willima Griffith and Jailey his wife to Thomas Turley Senr was presented in Court and acknowledged the said William and Jailey to be their respective acts and deed and the said Jailey being ??? ????? examind as the law directs relenquished her right of dower in and to the lands and premises in said indenture mentioned ordered that the same be recorded and certified Teste Will Tunstall C John Turlley Jr
