Gravely/Austin Deed, 1772 - Pittsylvania Co. VA Pittsylvania County, Virginia Deed Book 2, page 418: THIS INDENTURE made on the twentyth day of March one thousand Seven hundred and Seventytwo. BETWEEN James Gravely _____ of the Parrish of Camden and County of Pittsylvania of the one _____t and Joseph Austin of the County and parrish aforesaid ____ of the other part WITNEFSETH. that the said James Gravely for and in Consideration of the sum of Fortyfive pounds or current money of Virginia to him in hand paid by the said Joseph Austin at or before the Ensealing and delivery of these Presents the Recipt whereof is hereby acknowledged by the said James Gravely hath Givin granted bargained and sold all lein & Confirmed and these presents doth give grant bargain & Sell alein release and Convey unto the aid Joseph Austin all that Tract peice or parcel of Land Situated Lying and being in the aforesaid parrish of Camden and County of Pittsylvania Containing by Estimation One hundred and Seventytwo acres lying on a fork of Sandy River and Bounded as follows _______ BEGINNING at Daniel Hankins Corner red oak thence on William Paynes line north SeventySeven Degrees West one hundred & Sixty poles to a white oak thence ___ Yarsagtons lines north Sixteen ----------------------------------------------------------------- Degrees West forty six poles to pointers in James Mortons line thence on his lines north forty seven degrees. East Sixty six poles to a white on the aforesaid fork. North five degrees East eightytwo poles to a white oak Crofsing the fork aforesaid north Sixty degrees West Seventy poles to a gum thence along Twitteys and Companys line north fifthfive degrees. East one hundred and Twelve poles to a red oak and thence along Daniel Hankins line South fifteen degrees. East thence hundred and sixteen poles to the Beginning. With all woods under Woods Ways Waters Water courses Profits Commodities Herediataments Advantages and appurtenances. Whatsoever to the said Land belonging or Appertaining and Reversition and Reversions Remainder and Remainder of Rents Ifsues and profits of the said premises above mention and of every part and parcel thereof with the appurtenances also the Estate Rite Title Interest Property Profit Claim and Demand either in Equity or Law of him the said James Gravely and his heirs of in or to the said Land Premises above mentioned and every part and parcel thereof woth the appurtenances- and also all Deeds Edfices and Wrightings touching or in anywise-- Concerning the said only or only any part there of.
