Murphy, 19 Mar 2001] This Indenture made this twenty fourth day of September one thousand seven hundred and ninety four Between Richard Keesee and Sarah his wife of the County of Pittsylvania of the one-part and John Murphy of Bedford County of the other part WitneSseth that the sd. Richard Keesee and Sarah his wife for and in consideration of the Sum of Twenty seven pounds current Money of Virginia to them in hand paid by the said John Murphy before the enuating[?] and delivery of these presents have Granted Bargained and Sold, Alianed[?], released and confirmed and by these presents doth Grant bargain Sell release and confirm to the sd. John Murphy his heirs and aSsigns forever All that piece, parcel or tract of Land of the sd. Richard Keesee lying and being in the County of Pittsylvania on the branches of Tommyhawk Creek and bounded as follows (Viz) Beginning at a Chesnut tree on the branch thence new lines South fifty seven degrees West seventy poles to Muhhanes line thence with that line North foruty one degrees West one hundred and seventy six poles to a white oak on a branch thence up the same as it oneyonders[?] to two white oaks at the head of a Branch thence South forty eithg degrees Past thirty two poles to a red oak Saplin North Sixty one east thirty poles to a white oak South thirty East thirty six poles to a white oak South twenty three Wese one hundred and forty two poles to pointers South fifty West sixty poles to a black Gum and South thirty two West sixty poles to the beginning containing two hundred and eighty four acres together with all priveledges profits Heretotements[?] and Appirtenences whatsoever to this same belonging or in any wise appertaining and the reversion and the reversions, remainder and remainders rents ISsues and profits of premises and every part thereof, the right, claim and demands whatsoever in Save[?] or Equity of him the sd. Richard Keesee and Sarah his wife in and to the sd. premises or any part thereof to have and to hold all and singular the Land and premiSes and every part thereof unto the sd. John Murphy his heirs and ASsigns for ever And the sd. Richard Keesee and Sarah his wife doth hereby Grant for themselves their Heirs all and singular the above mentioned Land and premises and every part thereof with the appirtanences unto the sd.
