George the third by the grace of god of great Brittain, France and Ireland King, Defender of the Faith ofc.[?] to Gideon Wright, Charles Mchanally and MoSes Martin Esqrs. or any two of his majestys Justices of the County of Surry, Greeting whereas Richard Murphy, by his Certain Indenture of Feoffment[?] hath Conveyed unto William Ragsdale of the County of Pittsylvania One Certain Tract or parcel of Land, Lying and being in the said County of Pittsylvania Containing Two hundred acres and whereas Keziah the wife of the said Richard cannot conveniently Travel to and from our said county Court of Pittsylvania. Know ye that we Trusting to your faithfull and provident circumspection in Examining Keziah the wife the said Richard from and apart from her said Husband whether she does freely and volentarily without the persuasion or threats of her said Husband-- Relinquish her Right of Dower in and to the said Land and premises Conveyed by her said Husband in the said Indenture and when you have it done that you certifie to our Justices of our said Court of Pittsylvania under your hands and Seals distinctly and plainly you send together with this writ WitneSs Will Tunstall Clerk of our County Court at the Courthouse the 18th Day of may In the 13 N[?] year of our Reign. Will Tunstall p. 326 Pittsylvania Sch[?] By virtue of the above Dedimus sans benecte [?] we have Examined Keziah the wife of Richd. Murphy apart from her husband Touching her Relinquishment of her Dower in and to Two hundred acres of Land Conveyed by her said Husband to the above William Ragsdale we do hereby certifie that the said Keziah apart from her Husband did freely and Volentarily without the Persuasions or threats of her sd Husband Relinquish her Right of Dower to the said Land and Premises conveyed by her sd Husband in the sd.
