Member of: Company H, 38th VA Regiment, died November 12, 1887 of kidney 
trouble
Married on November 12, 1851

I, W. B. Shepherd, Clerk of the County Court for the County of Pittsylvania  do 
certify that Nancy S. Abbott whose name is signed to the foregoing application, 
personally appeared before me in my county, and, having the said application 
fully read and explained to her, as well as the statements and answers therein 
made, she the said Nancy S.  Abbott made oath before me that said statements and 
answers are true.Given under my hand this 4th day of May, 1900
