Jones I, Harry Woodring , Mayor in and for the city of Danville do certify that Leila Agee, whose name is signed to the foregoing application, personally appeared before me in my county, and, having the said application fully read and explained to her, as well as the statements and answers therein made, she the said Leila Agee made oath before me that said statements and answers are true. Given under my hand this 21st day of August, 1928. Signed: Harry Woodring. This letter found in files from the War Department to Comptroller's office: The name Robert Bently Agee has not been found on the rolls on files in this office of Company C, 52nd Regiment Virginia Infantry, Confederate States Army. The records, however, show that Robert B. Agee, not borne as Robert Bentley Agee, private, Company D, 56th Regt. VA Inf., CSA, was captured at Burksville, April 6, 1865, and took oath of Allegiance to the US at Point Lookout, Maryland, June 23, 1865. (POW records.) Date and place of enlistment not shown. His name has not been found on rolls of Company D, which cover period in part, from July 8, 1861 to August, 1864. John P. Jones served as Captain of Company D, 56th Virginia Infantry. Signed: L.
