BOLANZ AGE 80 PAINTER BY TRADE AFTER WAR HAD DISTANT RELATIVES OF WHOM HE LOST TRACK PITTSYLVANIA COUNTY, VA (CHATHAM) *************BOLANZ applied as under form 6 which is an application for any person who served the Confederate states in the war as body servant of a soldier in service, cook hostler, teamster, conf. guard, or who buried the conf. dead, worked in breastworks, railroad shops, blacksmith shops, confederate hospitals, under the direction of the conf. government by acts approved march 10, 1928, and march 26, 1928. BOLANZ'S father was considered a master mechanic; his shop was taken over by the confederacy; from the latter months of the war of 64, g. m. worked in the shop at the age of 13 until the close of the war. I, E. E. FRIERS , DEPUTY CLERK for the County of Pittsylvania, do certify that G. M. BOLANZ,whose name is signed to the foregoing application, personally appeared before me in my county, and, having the said application fully read and explained to him, as well as the statements and answers therein made, he the said G.
