LETTER TO COOK FROM PENSION CLERK, JOHN H. JOHNSON, REQUESTED INFORMATION ON 
REGIMENT, STATES THAT IT WAS GENERALLY KNOWN THAT COOK HUNTED DESERTERS, AND 
ATTENDED HORSES IN STABLES, NO CONFIRMATION IN FILES THAT HE WORKED FOR 
DETECTIVE SQUAD, YET HE RECEIVED A PENSION.
