and Tom Jordan, estate valued at $6840,

Pittsylvania County, Va (Java)

Member of: Light Artillery, Penick's Co. Va Light Artillery, Pougue's Battalion 
of Artillery. The record also shows that one J. A. B. Edwards, who enlisted at 
Halifax served as 1st Lieut. In Company E, 1st (Fahrinholt's ) Va Reserve.

Note in file to Mr. S. S. Hurt, Chatham, Va date June 30,1926:

Dear Sir:  I'm enclosing application for pension which you will please attend to 
for me.  I have not had the opportunity of see Mr. Saul? Brown and I could not 
get signatures of exconfederate soldiers as there are none in this section.  If  
you see any errors please advise and I'll try to ????.  What you do will be 
highly appreciated.  Signed: J. A. B. Edwards  p.s. I was at Appomattox 
Courthouse when your co???? Henry was wounded.
