Philpott dated April 4, 1911 from Bassett, VA To Whom it may concern: This may certify that I was a member of Company F, 57th Va Regt., Armistead's Brigade, Pickett's Division during the Civil War and that W. A. Finney, the former husband of Mrs. Sallie F. Finney, now of Byrdsville, VA was a member of the same brigade and division , but in lapse of time I have forgotten the company and regt. in which he served.
