W. Henderson, age 81 as of 1930, farmer. Comrade: Alfred Jones. PITTSYLVANIA COUNTY, VA --Ingram MEMBER OF: Boy Company under Col. Eaton Coleman and Capt. Chas. Weatherford. AFFIDAVIT OF OATH IN FILES: I, G. W. Henderson or Geo. W. Henderson do swear that I served 18 months in the Boy Company (I do not know the no. or name) Infantry which company was formed at Oak Level, Halifax County, VA and that my Capt. was Wm or Bill Olds and that my Lt. was Charlie Weatherford and further that my company engaged the High Bridge Fight between Oak Level and Richmond VA; I enlisted the last year of the war and was discharged at Danville, VA after Lee surrendered; We were stationed at breastworks at Danville, VA at the time of my discharge. Eaton Coleman and Lt. Charles Weatherford had not been identified: one other George Henderson served as a private in Company I, 25th VA Cavalry. ***No further document in files to settle the question of Regt. and company, but Henderson received $30 yearly.
