Name and Age: Nannie J. Scruggs, age 61 as of 1921, born in Charlotte County, VA. Resided with her son, B. Scruggs, married on April 26, 1866 in Pittsylvania by Rev. J. J. Lumkin. Widow of: John Wilbor Scruggs who died on Sept. 1, 1911 of consumption and other diseases, was a corporal in Company H, captured April 3, 1865 at Richmond and released July 2, 1865 at Newport News, VA.
