Copy teste: Joseph Atkin DC I do certifie that the within named Nathan Rowland wound that he received at the Battle of Guilford through his foot which hath rendered him now since unable to walk without a crutch which was made appear to Pittsylvania Court last September 5th. Ben Sankford Pittsylvania County: I do certifie that Nathan Rowland was ordered out a militia man of Pittsylvania County in the Battle of Guilford Court House where I am informed he received his wound. Certified under my hand this 30 March 1786. Ben Sankford, Col. of P Co. Certified by T. Bardet in March 1786 that the ball was still lodged in Rowland's foot, rendering him incapable of hard labour.
