Witnesseth that the John Barret for & in consideration of this amount of Fifteen pounds Current Money of Virginia to him in hand paid by the said Richard Barret or Richard Franks the receipt Whereof in the said John Barret hand doth hereby Acknoledge and himself therewith fully satisfied, contented paid hath given, granted, bargained & sold Al_____ and confirmed and by Him presents doth give, granting Bargained & sell al_____ & confirmed unto the said Richard Franks to his heirs forever one tract of Land. Lying & Being in Pittsylvania County on both sides of Magotty Creek Containing by Estimation fifty Acres & Bounded as follows To wit Beginning at a point in on the sout east way side of the said creek Thence continutes South fourty four Degrees hundren & fourty Eight poles crossing the creek to _____ in the old land _____ that line North sixteen Degrees East thirty five poles to red oak North _____ two degrees West twenty two po9les to a Red Oak North twenty six degrees East sixty eight poles to a pine North fifty degrees West forty poles to a white Oak south fifty six degrees West bounty Eight poles to a Red Oak on the Creek. Thence up the same as it meanders & _____ to a Chestnut South forty seven Degrees West fifty poles to the first _____ and Also all to us _____ understood. Profits Commodities Advantages Ways, Waters & water courses & affi_____ whatsoever of the said Tract of Land above mentioned belonging or in any way appertaining & Also the succession of survivors Remainders of surrenders Rights, Interests Claims & Demands Whatsover of his for the said Jno Barret since his heirs & _____ for _____ & to the said tract or parcel of land promised, giving land thereof to Have & to hold the said tract of land & all & singular the said promises above mentioned and every part & parcel thereof with the apperences unto the said Richard Franks his heirs & aforegoing forever to the _____ possession & ______ his the said Richard Franks the said tract of land & promises an every wish therof against him and his heirs & aforegoing and against all and every other person or persons Whatsoever unto the said Richard Franks- his heirs & Aforegoing forever shall & will Warrant & forever Defend.
