Hutcheson Cemetery Location: 8 miles southwest of Portsmouth, Virginia on Route #17 to Deep Creek, thence east over Canal bridge, thence east on Route #166 4 miles, thence east on road to Wilkins home .5 mile. Portsmouth, Virginia DATE: 1757. OWNERS: Captain Willis Wilkins original owner. The present owner, Minor O. Barnes bought the farm but the family burial plot was not included in the Deed of Sale. The present heirs not known. [1937] DESCRIPTION: The plot is about seventy five feet square. It is in very bad condition, grown up with undergrowth and weeds, but the stones are well preserved and very beautiful.
