U. G. Wilson, officiating. Interment was in Lincoln Memorial Cemetery. Best known here as “Dick Wroten,” Mr. Alston was a talented tenor singer of former years, having sung in the choir at Zion Baptist Church and with other musical organizations in the city. He resided lately at 144 Key road. He was confined to the Veteran’s Hospital for about six weeks where he underwent an operation for the amputation of a leg. His survivors include his widow, Mrs. Grace Alston; one son, William (Billy) Alston, of the U. S. Navy; and a niece, Miss Fanny Goodman.
