Norfolk Journal and Guide,Saturday, Mar 12.1938
The funeral of Marshall Griffin, well known resident of Lincoln Park, who died
at his home after a brief illness, was held from the St. Mark Baptist Church
Sunday with the Rev. T. A. Ashe, pastor of the church, officiating, assisted by
the Rev. C. C. Somerville.

Mr. Griffin had been a member and deacon at St. Mark for the last thirty-four
years.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Dora Griffin, only 2 weeks
ago.  Solos were rendered by Mrs. Elizabeth Scott and T. Boone.  One daughter,
one son, four sisters and two brothers were among the survivors.  The Wheeler
Funeral Home was in charge of the funeral arrangements.  Interment was in the
Mount Calvary Cemetery.
