Norfolk Journal and Guide,Oct 21,1944
Norfolk - John F. Harris, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jack Harris of North 
Carolina, died in the United States Naval Hospital here on Thursday, Oct. 6, after 
a lengthy illness.

The deceased will be remembered as having visited his niece  here, Mrs. Lillie Mae 
Rawlings, of Liberty Park,  a year ago, and also his sister, Mrs. Susie A. Bowen, 
of Franklin, VA.  He was widely known both in this section and in North Carolina.
