Funeral services for Joseph Littleton, whose death occurred Monday morning, July 
6, at his late home, 820 Howard St., were held Sunday, July 12, at 2 p.m. from 
Hale’s Undertaking Parlors.  Rev. O. J. Allen, pastor the First Calvary Baptist 
Church, officiated.  Mrs. Josephine Wimberly sang a solo.  A quartette also sang.  
A large group of friends was in attendance.  Many floral designs made a beautiful 
scene.  A pall of gladiolas and fern covered the casket.  Interment was in the 
Calvary Cemetery, Portsmouth.  Pall bearers were Ernest Lorton, William Braye, 
Leroy Perry, Frank Singleton, Milton Woodard, and Arthur Jones.
