Another house was built a couple of miles away from the original site by Major Jacob Michaux in 1796. He named the house Hunter’s Fare and his son and daughter Dr. Joseph Michaux and Miss Elizabeth Michaux inherited the house. A small cemetery exist in the front yard of this private property, located on the west side of Rt. 522 in Powhatan Co., VA, just south of the James River. The cemetery can not be seen from the road. Along with the few engraved headstones, four sets field stones have been placed to mark graves. It is unknown who they belong to. The spacing of the graves may also indicate 2 or 3 unmarked graves. Engraved Headstones: Tscharner de Graffenried Michaux born July 19, 1812 died December 19, 1881 Martha Jane Michaux born May 5, 1825 died October 22, 1881 Charles E Ashburner died June 25, 1900 Age 18 months Thy God has claimed thee as His Own. Lois Michaux born October 28, 1861 died November 7, 1882 She has passed from death unto life. Salle E. Michaux wife of R.L. Sydnor born February 4, 1854 died June 5, 1885 She has passed from death unto life Our dead baby Roland Lee Sydnor, Jr. born May 29, 1885 died July 12, 1885 In Memory of Tscharner D. Michaux born February 12, 1856 died August 16, 1887 He Giveth His beloved Sleep. Sallie F. Aston born April 17, 1818 died June 1900 Felix Taylor born April 28, 1867 died September 1, 1873 Sacred to the Memory of My husband Charles S. Taylor b. June 1, 1834 d. November 3, 1882 May he pass to a joyful resurrection
