GOODMAN December 7, 1857 Powhatan Virginia Book 20, page 62 This Deed made this 7th day of December 1857 between James H. GOODMAN of the one part and Littleton B. GOODMAN of the other part: Witnessed that whereas the said Littleton B. GOODMAN & Ellen his wife by their deed dated this 23 of July 1846 in order to occur to Zachariah GOODMAN the payment of the amount of Eighteen hundred and seventy six dollars and 44 cents ($1,876.44) on or before the 1 day of July 1857 due by bond of even date herewith the said deed conveyed to the said James H. GOODMAN & Charles J. GOODMAN (who is since dead) a certain tract or parcel of land lying in Powhatan County containing 255 acres and being the land purchased by said Littleton B. GOODMAN of James P. French (see book 16 page 69 1843) also one Slave named Albert - and whereas the said Littleton B. GOODMAN paid off the amount of the land of $1876.44 to the said James H. GOODMAN as Exr. of Jach GOODMAN died and is now survivors the property Conveyed by the deed aforesaid be now released to him. Wherefore the said James H. GOODMAN surviving trustee in the said deed of trust aforesaid do hereby release unto the said Littleton B. GOODMAN all the right title and interests conveyed by the deed aforesaid in the land and slave Albert therein particularly mentioned and described. Witnessed the following signature and seals. James H. GOODMAN SEAL At a court held for Powhatan County at the Courthouse thereof on Monday the 7th day of December 1857, the foregoing deed was acknowledged in Court by James H.
