GOODMAN 1860 Powhatan Virginia Book 20 page 350 This deed of bargain and sale made and entered into this 24 day of July1860 between Meriwether GOODMAN and Ann his wife of the county of Powhatan and state of Virginia of the first part and Littleton B.GOODMAN of the county and state aforesaid of the second part. Witness,that the said Meriwether GOODMAN and Ann his wife for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred and eighty-eight dollars to them and have paid by the said Littleton B. GOODMAN at and before the euseuling and delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, have given grants bargains solo and confirms and by these presents do hereby give, grant, bargain, sell and confirm to the said Littleton B. GOODMAN his heirs and assigns forever a certain trace or parcel of land lying in said County and bounded as follows: Beginning at a corner permanent tree and running on said Littleton B. GOODMAN S 70 W 52 poles to pointers, thence S 79 3/4 W 132 poles to pointers on John Coleman, thence N 49 E 156 poles to open corner on Meriwether GOODMAN, thence on said GOODMAN by a newly chopped line S 39 E 100 poles to the beginning and containing 36 acres be the same more or less. To have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land together with allowed singular the appurtenances and privelegdes forever. And the said Meriwether GOODMAN and Ann his wife for themselves and thier heirs the said tract of land with all singular its appuritenances and priviledges unto the said Littleton B. GOODMAN his heirs and assigns free from the claim or claims of them the said Meriwether GOODMAN and Ann his wife and all and every other person whatsoever shall and will warrent and do forever defend by these presents. GOODMAN and Helen his wife of the county of Powhatan and state of Virginia of the one part and Meriwether GOODMAN of the county and state aforesaid of the other part. Witness, that the said Littleton B. GOODMAN and Helen his wife for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred and forty dollars to them in have paid by the said Meriwether GOODMAN at sell before the unsealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt thereof is hereby acknowledged, have given, grants, bargains, sold and confirmed auby these presents do hereby give, grant, bargain, sell and confirm to the said Meriwether GOODMAN his heirs and assigns forever a certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in the said County of Powhatan containing by estimation Thirty Acres of land and bounded as follows: Beginning at a new corner permmon and running North 75 East 164 poles to pointers on John Leter thence S 49 W 152 poles on Est. Wm. A. Harteries to open corner, thence by a new line N 24 2 W 54 2 poles to the beginning be the same more or less. To have and to hold the said tract or parcel____together with all and singular appurtenances and privileges forever. And the said Littleton B. GOODMAN and Helen his wife for themselves and their heirs the said tract of land with all and singular its appurtenances and privileges into the said Meriwether GOODMAN his heirs and assigns free from the claim or claims of them the said Littleton B.
