I, John Barner, of the county of Powhatan and parish of King William do made and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form as follows: FIRST my will is that my beloved wife, Ann Barner, do have the use of all of my estate for her support during her life and at her death I do give my estate as follows: I give unto my son, John Barner, one negro girl named Amy which he has in his possession and her increase to him and his heirs forever. I give unto my son, David Barner, after his mothers death one negro girl named Dilcy and her increase to him and his heirs forever. I give unto my son, Francis Barner, five shillings current money. I give unto my son, William Barner, after his mothers death the tract of land I live upon containing one hundred and fifty four acres be the same more or less to him and his heirs forever. Also I give unto my said son William after his mothers decease three negroes (to wit) Phillis, Moll, and Jerry and their future increase to him and his heirs forever. Also one feather bed and furniture. I give unto my son, Jacob Barner, after his mothers decease one negro woman named Flora and her child Tabb and their future increase to him and his heirs forever. I give unto my son, Benjamin Barner, after his mothers decease a tract of land containing forty six acres more or less join the tract I live upon which said land was (?) by me to him and his heirs forever. Also I give unto my said son, Benjamin, four negroes (to wit) Julias, Rose, Robert, and Sandy and their future increase to him and his heirs forever. Also one feather bed and furniture. I give unto my daughter, Judith Flournoy, after her mothers decease on feather bed and furniture. I give unto my daughter, Rebecca Porter, after her mothers decease one feather bed and furniture. I give unto my daughter, Ann Flournoy, Ten pounds current money. I give unto my daughter, Mary Ann Harrison, Ten pounds current money. I give unto my daughter, Mary Magdaline Bainey, after her mothers decease two negro girls (to wit) Ursula and Rose daughters of Rose and their increase to her and her heirs forever. Also I give unto my said daughter one feather bed and furniture. Further my will is that after the death of wife that all my estate which is not given in this will be equally divided between my sons, William and Benjamin, and their heirs. Lastly I do appoint my beloved wife Executrix and my two sons, William Barner and Benjamin Barner, Executors of this my last will revoking all other wills made by me heretofore as witness my hand and seal this nineteenth day of July One Thousand seven hundred and eighty six. Anthony Martin his Daniel Branch John X Barner (Seal) James Martin Mark At a court held for Powhatan county at Scottsville on Thursday the twentieth day of September, 1787, This last will and testament of John Barner, deceased was presented in court and proved by the oaths of Anthony Martin, Daniel Branch, James Martin, three of the witnesses thereto and was by the Court ordered to be recorded; and on the motion of Ann Barner, William Barner and Benjamin Barner, Executrix and Executors therein named who made oath and entered into bond with Anthony Martin and Thomas Harris their securities in Penalty of one Thousand pounds according to Law probate thereof is granted them in due form of law.
