WILLIAMS FAMILY CEMETERY, Prince Edward County, Virginia (Old Woodall Place : Hwy. 656 Prince Edward Co.) (Visited 11/21/1993 by Vic Meadows) Made available to The USGenWeb Archives by Vic Meadows -- VicHistory@aol.com Williams Family Cemetery in Prince Edward County. It contains approximately 70-80 people although most of them have only rocks as tombstones. I know for a fact that the following people are buried there. Directions: Take 460 East out of Pamplin to Route 656. Turn left on 656 and drive for about 1.3 miles until you reach the end of the state maintenance (circular area). Turn right into a driveway. Park at the main house at the bottom of the hill and walk to the cemetery. (Land belongs to Hazen Family - 8/4/1994) It is best to go during the late fall and winter. There are approximately 50-60 graves in the cemetery but many of them are not marked and most are only marked with rocks as indicated on the map. I marked the rocks as closely as I could to the approximate location in the cemetery. I am also fairly sure the following are buried in this cemetery, but can find no proof: a. Mary Margaret Williams (b8-29-1819/m12-15-1840/d6-27-1855) William H. Baldwin b. Theophilus Irving Williams (According to the family.) c. Josephine Woodson Williams (Thee's 2nd wife)(") d. Virginia Wilkerson (Thee's 1st wife) e. Malinda Covington (wife of T.D. Williams) 6. Edward and Mary Williams may be buried here since he bought the land in 1802. g. Annie Lee Williams (b1921/d1921) daughter of Radford and Lizzie Williams. Edna Williams Price's sister. (According to Edna.) Edward Williams was the first Williams known to live in Prince Edward County. He and his wife, Mary, were from Henrico County. Many of Thomas Williams, Sr.'s children may be buried in this cemetery. NOTE: I copied the names, abbreviations, dates, and information just as it appeared on the tombstones. When in doubt I left it as unreadable instead of giving incorrect information. ==================================================================== USGENWEB NOTICE: In keeping with our policy of providing free information on the Internet, data may be used by non-commercial entities, as long as this message remains on all copied material.
