PRINCE EDWARD COUNTY, VIRGINIA - DEEDS File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by Carmen Finley William Finley to William Daverson, both of Prince Edward County, Virgnia, 20 acres on Vaughn's Creek, 8 May 1782, Prince Edward DB 6:448 This Indenture made the Eight Day of May in the year of our lord Christ one Thousand seven hundred Eighty two betwixt William Finley of Prince Edward County of the one part and William Daverson of the same County of the other part witnesseth the sd William Finley hath recd full satisfaction to him in hand paid before the sealing and Delivering of These presents The Recept whereof he Doth hereby acknowledge thereof Every part Thereof doth clearly aquit and Discharge the sd William Daverson his Heirs Exetors & adminors and Every one of them by these presents hath granted Bargained Sold and Confirmed by these presents Doth grant Elian Bargain Sell reless and confirm unto the sd William Daverson his Heirs Extors and admintors or assigns one Tract or parcel of land containing twenty acres be the Same more or less part of the sd land that the sd William Finley now lives upon being and lying in Prince Edward County and lying on the Branches of Vaughn's Creek adjoining Nathan Chaffin line thence to William Jones line thence along a new line adjoining Henry Perkins line to Cassens line along his line to the sd Chaffin line at the Begining to have and to hold the sd Tract or parcel of land with its appertances to have and to hold the sd Tract of land with all woods underwoods water and water courses Bilding with all the appertanances to the sd William Daverson his heirs Extors and admintors or assigns for ever and the sd Finley his Heirs Exetors and admintors or assigns and all of them Shall Warrant and Defend from any other person or persons Whatsoever Shall and will Warrant and forever hereafter Defend by these presents in witness whereof he the sd William Finley hath here unto set his hand and seal the Day and year above Writen Signed Sealed and Delivered in presence of William Finley (seal) Nathan Chaffin Thomas Baldwin John Davidson Robt Daniel (?) Memorandom that livery and seizen of the within lands and apertanances mentioned was given to William Daverson by the Within mentioned William Finley This Eight Day of May 1782 Test William Finley (seal) William Finley of Prince Edward to Henry Perkins of Charlotte, 235 acres on Vaughns Creek, 16 August 1781, Prince Edward County, Virginia, DB 6:439 This indenture made this sixteenth day of August in the fifth year of the Common Welth of Virginia and in the year of our Lord Christ one Thousand Seven hundred and Eighty one Between William Finley of Prince Edward County of the one part and Henry Perkins of Charlotte County of the other part Witnesseth that the sd William Finley hath Recd full satisfaction by the sd Henry Pirkins at or before the Delivering of these presents the receipt whereof the sd William Finley doth hereby acknowledge and thereof Every part thereof doth hereby acquit and discharge the sd Henry Pirkins his Heirs Extors and admrs for ever by these presents hath given granted bargined Sold aliened and confirmed unto the sd Henry Pirkins and heirs and assigns one Tract or parcel of Land Situated lying on the Branches of Vaughn Creek in Prince Edward County containing by Estimation two hundred and Thirty five acres be the same more or less and Bounded as followeth to Wit By James Caldwell William Jones along a new line through William Finley land to Cassen (?) line and thence to James Caldwell line at the Begining being now the land that William Finley now lives upon together With all woods underwoods ways waters and water corses Tidings Eastments commodity Hereditaments and appertanances whatsoever to the same Belonging or any ways appertaining and the Reversion and Reversions Remainder and Remainders and all and Singular the Estate rite title property Claim and Demand of him the said William Finley of or in or to the premises or any part thereof with the apertanances To have and to hold the sd Tract or parcel of Land and all and Singeler the premises hereby granted Bargined and sold with there and Every of There appertanances unto the said Henry Pirkins his heirs and assigns for Ever to the only use of him the sd Henry Perkins his heirs VC forever and the said William Finley for himself and his Heirs the said Tract or parcel of land and premises with the Appertanances unto the sd Henry Perkins and his heirs against him the said William Finley his heirs and assigns and all and every other person or persons Whatsoever Lawfully Claiming or Claim by from or under him them or any other person or persons Whatsoever shall and will Warrant and forever Defend by these presents In Witness whereof the said William Finley hath hereunto set his hand and seal the day and year above Written Signed Seald and Delivered in the William Finley (seal) presence of Nathan Chaffin his Ananias x Hancock mark John Caplin (?)
