Littlebury Farmer, War of 1812 Pension Application, abstracted - Prince Edward Co. VA WAR of 1812 and OLD WAR INVALID AND WIDOW REJECTED VIRGINIA SERVICE OF LITTLEBURY FARMER FILE NO 14058 Declaration was made in Prince Edward County, Virginia, June 4, 1858 by said Littlebury Farmer, age 81, a resident of the town of Farmville, in said county. He stated that he was drafted as a private under Capt. Nichols of the 4th regiment of Virginia Militia, June 18, 1812, and discharged Sept 6 1814 at Norfolk, Va and his discharge was signed by Adjutant General Jas Bankhead and now on file in the pension office with said Farmer's application for bounty land. While in service, received the following wound; he got his right leg broken, just above the ankle and joint, say 4 inches above it, by a soldier accidently throwing a piece of timber upon his leg, while he was in camp at Crany Island, at or near the town of Norfolk, VA, and until 8 or 9 years since, when he removed to Farmville, he resided in Buckingham Co, VA and spent the last 18 months or about that, until April last, with his daughter at Nashville, Tennessee, in April last when his daughter returned to Farmville and he returned with her, and now resides here in Farmville. Since service bieng disabled on account of the wounds has been supported by charity. 2 witness to his signature were BC Peters and SO Soathall. 2 affidavits in Buckingham Co VA-one by Henry Miles, 1858, who states he was a private under Capt Nichels of the 4th regiment, VA militia, and sta- tioned at Crany Island at or near Norfolk, VA and in same Mess with Littlebury Farmer and knows he got his right leg broked and etc. Affidavit of James Austin in Buckingham Co, VA who is a doctor and gives outline of his broken leg. John Foster in Prince Edward Co states he purchased land warrant No 4154 from said Farmer for 80 acres.
