The parties were LT. GEORGE R. BRIDGES of Chatham, N. C. and Ensign SAMUEL H. BRYANT of Prince Edward County, Va., both of the 10th Regt. The latter was shot down at the second fire. The ball entered between the 9th and 10th ribs, and could not be found. He was truly unfortunate in the affair.
