Orange, Farmville loses a citizen who in his life gave to us the good example of untiring devoiton to daily duty. Never strong of body, and even after his strength failed, he "stuck to the last" and labored on when other men would have abandoned the struggle. His last act of public nature was to drag himself to the polls on the day of recent town elections and there express his choice as a citizen and voter and in doing so set an example worthy of following, especially in this age when so many are disposed to neglect this important civic duty. After painful and wasting illness, lasting through weary months, he died at his home on Virginia Street (inserted by S.E.--this is in Farmville) on Monday last, and the burial took place Wednesday morning and he now rests from his labor in our City of the Dead.
