Hobbs family graveyard: 1937 July 22 Research made by Elsie D. Hamlin Cemetery Location: 10 miles south of Petersburg, Virginia, on Route #301; thence 1.8 miles east on Route #621; thence 3.2 miles east on Route #638; thence 50 feet north of Route #638. Prince George Co., Virginia DATE: 1862, earliest date known. There were several buried here before that date but the dates are unknown. OWNERS: Peter B. Halligan, Carson, Virginia, is the present owner. [1937] DESCRIPTION: This graveyard is about fifteen feet square and is grown up in bushes and honeysuckle. The graves are marked by cedar trees, but there are no tombstones. HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE: It is said that the following are buried here: Susanah Hobbs, date unknown, great-grandmother of Mrs. Susie Hobbs Smith Col. Rawleigh W. Hobbs, died July 8, 1862 Virginia C. Hobbs, died Sept. 18, 1868 Capt. Peter Thomas Hobbs, date unknown Edward T. Hobbs, died Aug. 26, 1863 Adonram C.
