Cemetery Location:  2.5 miles south of Petersburg, Virginia, on Route  #301 
                    thence .1 mile west on private road; thence fifty feet north 
                    of private road.
                    Prince George Co., Virginia


DATE:

1783.

OWNERS:

The Morris Plan Bank of Richmond is the present owner. [1937]

DESCRIPTION:

This graveyard is about twenty-five square and is enclosed with an iron fence.  
It has grown up with bushes and honeysuckle and there are several cedar trees.

HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE:


There are no tombstones but Mrs. Sally Harrison Purdy says that her great-
grandfather, William Samuel Jones, who was born November 6, 1783, came from 
England when he was a young man and settled in Prince George County on the Jones 
Farm, and that he and the following members of the family are buried in this 
graveyard, but she does knot know the dates and the family Bible has been 
misplaced.

Clara Magee Jones
Samuel Jones Harrison
Ella Nora Missouri Jones, who died during the  War Between the States.

Her father was a prisoner at the time and no male member of the family was at 
home, so the Federal General who had headquarters in the Jones house gave her a 
military funeral.
