Harrison Cemetery Location: 6.4 miles northeast of Disputanta, Virginia, on Route #625; thence 1.2 miles west on Route #616; thence 1.9 miles north of Route #616. Prince George Co., Virginia DATE: 1891, date of oldest marker. OWNERS: The estate on which this graveyard is located was bought on March 27, 1808 by Edward A. Marks, Jr., from the “Old Town” estate of Charles Carter. It remained in the Marks family by inheritance until Edward Richard Marks sold it on September 4, 1902, to David W. Hobbs. Who sold it on March 20, 1924, to Andrew Rusnak and his wife Mary, who are the present owners. [1937] DESCRIPTION: This graveyard is a plot sixty by sixty feet, located in an open field and surrounded by a barb-wire fence. There is a growth of many cedar trees and many sunken placed which indicate there have been graves other than the ones which have tombstones. HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE: Inscriptions: Charles H. Marks Born Aug. 15, 1845 Died June 22, 1896 Death is eternal life Why should we die. Helen R. Marks Born June 30, 1848 Died Sept. 10, 1910 Death is eternal life Why should we die. Edward Marks son of John H. & Sarah H. Marks 1839 – 1891 and three of his infant children. In memory of John H. Marks and Sarah H. Marks and three children erected 1893 by their daughter Sarah H.
