Rives family graveyard: 1937 Sep. 15 Research made by Elsie D. Hamlin Cemetery Location: 4.6 miles south of Petersburg on Route #301; thence 2.2 miles east on Route #626; thence about .75 mile south of Route #626, in the woods. Prince George County, Virginia DATE: Prior to 1865. OWNERS: John P. & Catherine Moore Henry & Josephine Wyborny 1889 to 1902 Mrs. Jennie Zajick 1902 to 1917 Mrs. Helen Rott 1917 to present [1937] We could not trace the property back to the Rives family as the records were destroyed during the War Between the States. DESCRIPTION: This graveyard is about twenty feet square and is grown up in bushes and trees. There are no tombstones. HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE: There are no tombstones and the family Bible has been misplaced, so the exact dates are not known. Mrs. Lonnie Baird says that the following of her relatives are buried here: Robert G. Rives Harriet Heath Rives Ida Rives The site of the home of Robert G. Rives, who was a prominant man of Prince George County, is about fifty yards from the graveyard.
