I Patty Woodlief of Prince George County in the State of Virg'a. after full and deliberate consideration, & agreeable to our Bill of Rights am fully persuaded that Freedom is the natural Right of all mankind, & that no Law, Moral or Devine hath given me a just right or property in the persons of any of my fellow creatures and Desirous to fullfill the injunction of our Lord and Saviour JESUS CHRIST by doing to all others as I w'd. be done by, Do hereby set free from Bondage the following Negroes vizt: Lucy & Captain, and I do for my self, my Heirs, Exr's. and Admr's. from this Day release unto the said Negroes all my right and all claim whatsoever as to their persons, or to any Estate they may acquire, hereby Declaring the said Negroes absolutely free without any interuption from me, or any person claiming under me But as the above mentioned Negroes are yet in their nonage, I wish to see to the Guardianship & Instruction of the said Negroes till they arrive at full age, which happen, Lucy Nov.16th,1791, Captain April 24th,1800 at which respective periods I discharge the above nam'd. I Henry Alley of Prince George County in Virginia after full and deliberate consideration, & agreeable to our bill of rites am fully persuaded that Freedom is the natural Right of all mankind & that no Law moral or devine hath given me a just Right or property in the person of my Fellow Creatures and Desireous to fullfill the Injunction of our Lord and saviour Jesus Christ by doing to all others as I would be done by, Do hereby set free from bondage three Negroes, named Jinny aged ten years and as the said Negro Girl is in her nonage I desire to have the care Guardianship and instruction of the said child till she arrives at full age which will happen the 16th of June 1801, Peter aged six years but as the said Boy is in his nonage I desire to have the Guardianship and Instruction of the said Boy till he arives to full age which happens the 13th Day of December 1805, Phebe aged two years but as the said Girl is in her nonage I desire to have the Guardianship and Instruction of the said Girl till she comes to full age which happens in March 1809 at which several period I discharge the said negroes from any engagements to me or any other person claiming under me. We James Cureton and Susanna Heath both of Prince George County and State of Virginia believing that all men by nature equally free, therefore we do Emancipate and set free Moll aged forty two years, Stephen aged thirty three years, Major aged twenty six years, Ned aged forty seven years, Bess aged sixty five years, Mingo aged thirty nine years, Lydia aged sixteen years, Jeary aged ten years, Nead aged ten years, Ben aged six years, Humphrey aged four years, Susanna aged Eight years, The above slaves we relinqush all right title more than James Cureton being Guardian for Lydia till she comes to the age of Eighteen years, Jeary comes to the age of twenty one years, Ned comes to the age twenty one years, Ben comes to the age of twenty one years, Humphrey comes to the age of twenty one years, and we do by these presents intirly and fully discharge the above slaves and moreover warrant them Liberty from our Heirs Executors Administrators or assigns as fully as if they had been born free, in witness whereof we have hereunto set our hands and affixed our seals this fourteenth day of December in the year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and Ninety. This Deed of emancipation from James Cureton and Susanna Heath to Moll and others was acknowledged by the said Cureton to be his Act and Deed and proved by the oaths of John Marks and Benjamin Cocke the witnesses thereto as to Heath & by order of the Court it is truly Recorded. I John Westbrook of Prince George County and State of Virginia believing that all men by nature Equally free, therefore do Emancipate and set free Lucy aged thirty five years, Gabe aged five years, Mary aged two years the above slaves I relinqush all right title more than being Guardian for Gabe till he comes to the age of twenty one years, Mary till she comes to the age of Eighteen years and I do by these presents intirly and fully discharge the above slaves and moreover warrant them Liberty from my Heirs Exor's. I Boyce Gary of Prince George County in the State of Virginia believing that all men are by nature and of right ought to be free do by this instrument of writing emancipate and set free my Negro man Francis about the age of forty and three years, and Woman Cis of the age of thirty and five or thereabouts and by these presents fully discharge the said Francis and Cis from the twentififth day of next December I witness whereof I heretofore set my hand and seal this tenth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety one. I Stephen Peebles of Prince George County do hereby Emancipate and set free one Negroe Man named Aron aged about twenty seven years and also having under my care one Negro Girl named Hager aged about seven years or so I do also Emancipate and set free after she arrives to the age of Eighteen years,I also Relinquish my Right in the following Negroes Viz: Stephen, Dinah, Samson, Nancy, Little Dinah, or to any Estate the above mentioned Negroes may hereafter acquire In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this fourteenth day of the Eleventh Mo. In the year of our Lord one thousand & seven hundred and ninety. I Jesse Hunnicutt of Prince George County in Virginia, being fully persuaded that fredom is the natural Right of all mankind: and that it is my duty to do unto others as I would desire to be done by in the like situation and having under my care (Negroes) whom I have heretofore held as slaves of the following names and ages viz: Isom about 29 years old, and Tom about twenty three years old I do therefore Emancipate and set free the said Negroes,and I do for my self my Heirs, Executors and administrators Relinquish all my Right Title Interest Claim or pretention of Claim whatsoever Either to their persons or to any Estate they may hereafter acquire and having also a negro now in her minority named Winney aged about Eleven years old whom I do also hereby Emancipate and set free. Yet I believe it Right for me to act as Guardian over her untill she arive to the age of Eighteen years and I do for my self my Heirs Executors and Administrators Relinquish all my Right Title Interest and claim or pretention of claim whatsoever Either to her person or to any Estate she may acquire after she shall attain the age aforesaid which will be about the twenty fifth day of the Eleventh month one thousand seven hundred and ninety Eight without any interruption from me or any person claiming for, by, from, or under me. This Deed of Emancipation from Jesse Hunnicutt to Isom, Tom & Winney proved to be the act and Deed of the said Jesse by the affirmations of Robert Hunnicutt, Samuel Hunnicutt, and William Hunnicutt the witnesses thereto and by order of the Court it is truly Recorded. I Agness Chappell of Prince George County, Virginia being fully persuaded that freedom is the natural right of all mankind, and that it is my duty to do unto others as I would be done by in the like situation, and having under my care Negroes of the following names, David Buck thirty five years and Harry Buck twenty one years of age, I do therefore Emancipate and set free the said Negroes and I do for my self my Heirs Executors and Administrators, relinquish all my right title Interest and claims or pretentions of claims whatsoever, and having several Negroes now in their minority of the following names to wit, London Daingerfield aged eight years, Ritter aged seven years, Jesse Colenell aged four years and seven months, Sarah aged fifteen years, whom I also Emancipate and set free, yet I think it right for me to act as a gardain over them untill the males arive to the age of twenty one years and the females to the age of Eighteen years, and I do for myself my Heirs Executors Administrators relinquish all my right title Interest claim or pretention of claim whatsoever without any interruption from me or any person claiming from or under me to their persons or to any estate they may acquire after they shall attain to the age aforesaid. This Deed of Emancipation from Agness Chappell to David Buck, etc. was further proved by John Peebles a witness thereto and by order of the Court it is truly Recorded. We Thomas Chappell, John Chappell, Benjamin Chappell & Agnes Chappell of Prince George County, and Aquila Binford of Dinwiddie County Virginia being fully persuaded that freedom is the natural right of all mankind and that it is our duties to do unto others as we would be done by, and having under our care one Negroe of the following name Charles Rivers aged 22 years, we do therefore Emancipate and set free the said Negroe and we do for ourselves, our heirs, Executors Administrators, relinquish all our rights, titles, Interest, claims or pretentions of claims whatsoever without any interruption from us, or any person or persons claiming from or under any of us either to his person or to any Estate he may hereafter acquire, in witness we have hereunto set our hands and seals this seventeenth day of the month caled March 1792.
