Moor/Chamnis Deed, 1720 - Prince George County, VA. Deed - John Moor to Mary Chamnis - 1720 (Deeds, etc. 1713-28, page 439, Prince George Co.VA.) To All Christian People to whom these presents shall come, I John Moor send greeting in our Lord God Everlasting. Now Know ye that I the said John Moor for and in consideration of the Love, good will and affection which I have and do bear toward my Loving Daughter Mary Chamnis of this County of Prince George, Now the said John Moor not only for the causes and considerations aforesaid, but also to and for the purpose that the said Mary Chamnis, her heirs, Executors, administrators etc. shall and may the better maintain cherrish and keep the said John Moor during the time of his natural Life with meats, drinks, Lodgeing and apparrell and all other necessarys in such manner and form as heretofore followeth and in and as by these presents is mentioned and Expressed hath therefore hath given, granted, bargained, and by these presents doth fully, clearly and absolutely give unto the said Mary Chamnis, all and singular my goods and chattels, and all my whole personall Estate, moveable and unmoveable, debts, sum & sums of mony (excepting some owing me from William Temple Jun'r. and some goods which I have now in my chest w'ch. I reserve to make me some cloaths to wear during my Life, and for no other use or purpose whatsoever) corn, grain, Houshold stuff or Implements of Houshold stuff, or Implements of Husbandry of what sort nature or condition the same be, or in whose hands, possesion or custody soever the same be or shall happen to be found in any part of Virginia, together with all increase, profit or advantage thereof comeing, growing or arising. To have and to hold all and singular the said goods, with all the increase to the said Mary Chamnis her heirs Excutors, administrators or assigns to the sole and proper use of the said Mary Chamnis her heirs, Executors or assigns for ever, as fully freely & as ample manner & form to every intent and purpose, as the said John Moor could, should or of right ought to have or enjoy the same be it by Indenture, Deed or otherwise. And the said Mary chamnis in consideration thereof for her selfe her heirs Executors and administrators doth covenant and agree to and with the said John Moor and shall & will from time to time and at all times hereafter in sickness and health for and Dureing the natural Life of the said John Moor, maintain find cherrish and keep the said John Moor with competent and sufficient meat Drink, Lodgeing apparrell, washing, and all other things needful, meet and necessary for him according to his Degree and calling in every respect.
