Wells/Sturdivant Deed, 1842 - Prince George Co. VA (Deed Book 18, page 69, Prince George Co.VA.) This indenture made the 21st day of June in the year 1842 between William Wells of Prince George County Virginia of the one part and Joel Sturdivant and John H.Sturdivant of Blandford Prince George County Virginia of the other part witnesseth that the said William Wells in consideration of three hundred dollars of lawful money of this Commonwealth to him in hand paid by the said Joel Sturdivant and John H.Sturdivant at or before the ensealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have bargained and sold and by these presents does bargain and sell unto the said Joel Sturdivant and John H.Sturdivant their heirs and assigns the following property to wit: one certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in Prince George County Virginia containing eighteen and three quarter acres be the same more or less and adjoining the Lands of James Milesmore particularly described in a deed from Jesse Minge to said William Wells, also two cows and a calf,one sorrel horse, five hogs twelve months old, and sow and six pigs, two feather beds and furniture, one buffet, one cupboard, nine chairs, two pine tables, and one mahohany table, growing crop of every description, farming utinsels, kitchen furniture, one cart & wheels, two guns, also one negro boy named James Adolphus and every other species of property belonging to said Wells and not herein before enumerated of whatever kind or description, together with all the reversion and reversions, remainder and remainders, yearly and other rents, issues and profits in and to said land and tenements and the other property herein before described and of every part and parcel thereof. To have and to hold the said eighteen and three quarter acres of land with tenements hereditaments and all and singular other the premises herein before mentioned or intended to be bargained and sold, and every part and parcel thereof as well as the two cows and a calf, one sorrel horse, five hogs twelve months old, one sow and six pigs, two feather beds and furniture, one buffet, one cupboard, nine chairs, two pine tables, and one mahogany table, growing crop of every description, farming utinsels, kitchen furniture, one cart and wheels, two guns, a negro boy named James Adolphus and every other description or kind of property belonging to said Wells and not herein before enumerated with every of his rights in and to said lands and other property herein described unto the said Joel Sturdivant and John H. Sturdivant their heirs and assigns forever and the said William Wells for himself and his heirs the said eighteen and three quarter acres of Land, and the other property herein before named with all and singular the premises and appurtenances before mentioned unto the said Joel Sturdivant and John H.Sturdivant their heirs and assigns free from the claim or claims of him the said William Wells or his heirs and of all and every other person or persons whatsoever, shall will and does warrant and forever defend by these presents.
