In The Name of God, Amen Surry County in Virginia: I Christopher Davis being sick and weak, but in sound mind and memory, do here make my Last Will and Testament. First I give and bequeath my Soul to God that gave it, and my Body to the Earth and all my Temporall Estate as Followeth. First, I Leave unto my Loveing wife Elizabeth Davis the use and occupation of all the moveables that she is now possessed with, and after her decease to my Loveing son John Davis. Item.I give to my Loveing son Christopher Davis, five shillings. Item.I give to my Loveing son Hugh Davis, five shillings. Item.I give unto my Loveing Daughter Elizabeth Davis, five shillings. Item.I give unto my Loveing Daughter Frances Davis, five shillings. Item.I give and bequeath to my Loveing son John Davis all my Lands and Livings and all my moveables that is now in my son John his possession, and all my Debts that are now due unto me, I Leave my beloved son John Davis my whole and sole Executor, and see that this my Last Will and Testament be proved in Surry Court according to Law, as witness my hand and Seal this 10th of September in the year of our Lord 1722. The above written Last Will and Testament of Christopher Davis Dece'd. was presented into Court by John Davis his Executor, who made oath thereto, and it being proved by the oaths of William Tanner and William Read two of the witnesses thereto, by order of the Court is truly recorded.
