Will of John Hatch, 1722 - Prince George Co. VA. Will of John Hatch - 1722 (Deeds etc. 1713-28, page 561, Prince George Co.VA.) In the Name of God Amen. I John Hatch of the County of Prince George merchant, being very sick and weak, but of sound and perfect mind and memory, do make and ordain this my Last Will and Testament in manner and form following, Imp's. I give and Devise unto my Son Nicholas Hatch the Plantation Lands & House on which I now dwell, to have and to hold to him the said Nicholas and his heirs for ever, together with all my other Lands, Tenements and Hereditaments situate, Lying and being in this County of Prince George or in any other County within this Colony and Dominion of Virginia, and Likewise all my Negro Mallatto and Indian slaves, all which I give and Devise unto him my said Son Nicholas Hatch and his Heirs forever. Item. I give and bequeath unto my said Son Nicholas Hatch all my personal Estate, Goods, Wares, Merchandises, Debts, ready mony, and all other Estate which I am now in possession of, or can or may lawfully claim of and from any person or persons whatsoever, of which said Estate I make and appoint my said Son Nicholas Hatch my only and sole Executor. Item. I will and appoint that my said Estate shall not be appraised, and that my Executor shall not be obliged to give any Security. The above written Last Will and Testament of John Hatch dec'ed. was presented into Court by Nicholas Hatch his Executor who made oath thereto, and it being proved by the oaths of Robert Rogers, John Hamersley and William Hamlin Witnesses thereto, is by order of the Court truly recorded and on the motion of the said Nicholas Hatch Certificate is granted him for obtaining a probate of the said Will in due form.
