Will of Elizabeth Ivie, 1718 - Prince George Co. VA (Deeds etc. 1713-28, page 392, Prince George Co.VA.) In the name of God, Amen, I Elizabeth Ivie of the County of Prince George and Parrish of Waynoke, being in good health and of sound & perfect mind and memory, thanks be given to God for the same, do make, appoint ordain this my Last Will and Testament in form and manner following, nullifying and makeing void by these presents all Will or Wills, Testament or Testaments by me formerly made or declared, and this only to be my Last Will and Testament. First I bequeath my Soul to almighty God, hopeing by the merritts of my Redeemer to receive Everlasting Life & happyness and my body to the Earth to be decently Interred at my decease by my heirs or Ex'rs. hereafter named. 2dly. I give and bequeath unto my son George Ivie, twenty shillings, or the worth of twenty in some commodity, as my Exceutor shall see fitt. 3dly. I give and bequeath unto my son Henry Ivie, a Gold ring. 4th. I give and bequeath unto my son John Ivie, my bed & what belongs to it. 5th. I give and bequeath unto my son Gilbert Ivie, twenty shillings, or the worth of twenty. 6th. I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Susan Hays, a Gold ring. 7th. I give and bequeath unto my son Adam Ivie and his Daughter Elizabeth Ivie, all the remaining part of my household goods, to be Equally divided between them as he shall see fitt, and I do hereby apoint my son Adam Ivie my sole Executor to see this my Last Will and Testament truly fullfilled, as witness my hand and seal unto this 26th of April 1718. The above written Last Will and Testament of Elizabeth Ivie dece'd., was presented into Court by Adam Ivie her Executor, who made oath thereto, and it being proved by the oath of Elizabeth Foster a witness thereto, is by order of the Court truly recorded.
