Will of William Jackson, 1720 - Prince George Co. VA (Deeds etc. 1713-28, page 402, Prince George Co.VA.) In the Name of God, Amen, I William Jackson of the parrish of Martins Brandon in Prince George County, being weak in body but in perfect mind and memory, do make and ordain this my Last Will and Testament in manner and form as followeth, viz't.: Imprimis I give and bequeath my Soul into the hands of the Almighty and Merciful God and my Body to the Earth to be decently Interred at the discretion of my Executrix hereafter named, and as for my Estate which it hath pleased God to bestow upon me, I give and bequeath it as follows viz't.: my desire is that my Debts and funeral charges be first paid and my Land I give & bequeath to my Loveing wife Martha Jackson and my son born of her body, but if it please God to remove my said son by Death, then I give all my Land to my said wife Martha. Item. I give and bequeath to Frances Crabb a crape suit of cloaths and a Gold ring, which were her mothers. Item. I give and bequeath to Agnis Crabb, a Gold ring which was her mothers. Item. I give and bequeath to my wife Martha Jackson and to my son born of her body, and my Daughter Sarah Jackson, my negro's & all the rest and residue of my Estate (not otherwise disposed of in this Will) to be divided Equally amongst them, and I make constitute and ordain my said wife Martha full and sole Executrix of this my Last Will and Testament. The above written Last Will and Testament of William Jackson dec'ed. was presented into Court by Martha Jackson the Executrix who made oath thereto and it being proved by the oaths of John Hamersley a witness thereto, is by order of the Court truly recorded, and on the motion of the said Martha Jackson and her giveing Security according to Law, Certificate is granted her for obtaining a probate in due form.
