Will of Paul Jones, 1720 - Prince George Co.VA. Will of Paul Jones - 1720 (Deeds etc. 1713-28, page 446, Prince George Co.VA.) In the name of God, Amen, I Paul Jones of the Parrish of Martins Brandon and County of Prince George, being sick and weak of Body but of perfect mind and memory, thanks to God for the same, do make and ordain this my Last will and Testament in manner & form as followeth.- Item. I give and bequeath my Soul to God who gave it, thro' the merritts of my Saviour Christ, and my body to be decently buryed. Item. I give and bequeath to my son John Jones my Silver headed cain & my great Gunn. Item. I give and bequeath to my son Robert Jones five pounds current mony of Virginia.- Item. I give and bequeath to my Daughter Eliz. Jones a Gold Ring.- And Lastly I do make and ordain my Loveing wife Mary Jones my whole & sole Executrix of this my Last Will and Testament, and that she shall have the whole use and possession of all the remaining part of my Estate, Real & personall after the above mentioned Legacys and other just debts paid, dureing her naturall Life, and after her decease, the same shall be equally divided amongst my three children Viz't. The above written Last Will and Testament of Paul Jones dec'ed. was presented into Court by Mary Jones the Executrix, who made oath thereto and it being proved by the oaths of Thomas Searbro, Richard Ingrum and Benjamin Reeks, witnesses thereto, is by order of the Court truly recorded.
