Will of John Middleton, 1722 - Prince George Co. VA. Will of John Middleton - 1722 (Deeds etc. 1713-28, page 570, Prince George Co.VA.) In the Name of God, Amen, I John Middleton being sick and weak of Body but of perfect mind and memory, thanks be to God for the same, do make and ordain this my Last Will and Testament in manner and form as followeth, viz't. Item. I give and bequeath my soul to God Almighty who gave it through the merritts of Jesus Christ my Saviour, and my body to be decently buryed at the discretion of my Executor hereafter named. Item. My will and Desire is that all my Estate be it in what kind soever that I am now possess with, together with all just Debts due to me, and my share of the Cropp which I made this year on John Minges Plantation which he holdeth in Martin Brandon, with his the said Minges People, according to our agreement about makeing the said Cropp, after all just Debts due from my Estate is paid, that then the remaining part thereof be equally Divided among my three children, viz't. John Middleton, James Middleton & Mary Middleton. Item. I do appoint my loveing friend Peter Talbott my whole and sole Executor of this my Last Will and Testament, to see the same truly performed, As Witness my hand and Seal this 20th day of November, Annog'd. 1722. The above written Last Will and Testament of John Middleton dec'ed. was presented into Court by Peter Talbott his Executor, who made oath thereto, and it being proved by the oaths of Benjamin Reekes and Thomas Clifton witnesses thereto, by order of the Court is truly recorded.
