Will of Andrew J.Temple (Will Book 2, page 122, Prince George County,VA.) I Andrew J.Temple considering the uncertainty of life, and being of sound and disposing mind, do make this my last will and testament hereby revoking all former wills by me at any time made. 1. I desire that my body may be decently buried, without needless expense, in a manner corresponding to my estate and my situation in life. 2. I direct that all my just debts shall be paid. 3. I give and devise to my dear wife Maggie V.Temple, so long as she shall remain my widow or during her life an undivided one-third interest in and to my farm of two hundred and twenty seven (227) acres, upon which I now reside, with an undivided one-third interest in and to all my personal property not hereinafter otherwise disposed of consisting of household and kitchen furniture,horses,mules,cows,hogs, vehicles of every kind and description farm implements, and all other property on my said farm at the time of my death, but should my said wife again marry or upon her death said interest in all of said poperty shall pass to my son Theodore Temple, absolutely and in fee- Simple. 4. I give and devise to my son Theodore absolutely and in fee-simple an undivided two thirds interest in and to all of said property, mentioned in item 3 of this will, upon the condition that he properly take care of, support and maintain my dear wife so long as she remain my widow or during her natural life. 5. I direct that my red plush parlor suit, sofa, 1 large chair, 1 large rocking chair, 4 small chairs be equally divided between my three children. 6. I direct that my organ be sold and the money received therefore, be equally divided between my three children. 7. I give and bequeath fifty dollars each to my daughters Anna Birdsong and Eva Daniel out of money not otherwise disposed of. 8. I give and bequeath all my property or money not otherwise disposed of to my said wife Maggie V.Temple, and said son Theodore Temple, as provided in items three and four of this my will, upon the same conditions and subject to the said limitations. 9. I hereby nominate and appoint my friend Thomas Temple, my executor to execute the provisions of this my last will and testament. Witness my hand this 19th day of april 1909. Andrew Temple. The Last Will and Testament of Andrew J.Temple late of the County of Prince George, deceased, was this day produced before me W.D.Temple, Clerk of the said Court, in my office aforesaid, and offered for probate, and proved by the oaths of John M.Williams and J.O.Faison, two of the subscribing witnesses thereto, whereupon the said will is admitted to probate and ordered to be recorded as and for the true last will and testament of Andrew J.Temple, deceased, and on the motion of Thomas Temple the Executor named in said will, who made oath thereto, according to law, and together with Theodore Temple, his surety who justified on oath as to his sufficiecy, entered into and acknowledged a bond in the penalty of one thousand dollars, conditioned according to law, Certificate is granted the said Thomas Temple for obtaining a probate of the said will in due form. IT IS ORDERED, that H.T.Belsches, J.H.McCann, C.H.Leath, R.E.Lee, and Joseph Wood, or any three of them, being first duly sworn for the purpose, do truly and justly appraise such of the goods and chattels of Andrew J.Temple, deceased, as may be produced to them, and return their appraisement under their hands as the law directs.
