These are both surname COPEN tracts and are part of the government record of the 10 Declarations of Taking. KOPP-646 UNIT Parcel NO. 621 That certain piece, parcel or lot of land known as "Milton Copen" Estate, containing 115 acres, more or less, about three miles west of Independent Hill, and described as follows: BEGINNING at A an ancient Red Oak corner to C. M. Copen, Jr., thence to an easterly direction with Gregory line to a stone on a ridge near a fence corner to Gregory; thence to old fence lien to the east bank of Quantico Run, thence to said Run to L. D. Copen's corner at the road, thence witih said road, the same being the outer boundary of my farm to the beginning; Being the same property devised to Annie E. Copen for life, with remainder to George M. Copen and Margaret E. Copen, by Charles Milton Copen, Sr., by will dated March 18, 1921, probated November 6, 1926, recorded in Will Book 1, page 309. Copen and others, and is the residue of the following tact, and bounded as follows: BEGINNING at A, an ancient marked red oak near the edge of an old field, running thence S. 24 1/2 W. 80 poles to a planted stone in Chapmens Copen's field, thence N. 71 1/4 W. 15.2 poles to a large red oak on teh side of a hioll, thence N. 21 W. 215.5 poles to a stone pile between the two small pines on the west side of hill at (4), thence S. 80(degrees) 40 E. 153.9 poles to another stone pile around which are marked two pines and red oak saplings on teh south side of a hill, thence S. 51(degrees) W. 125.3 to the beginning, containing 110 acres, and from which 10 acres have been taken, leaving 100; Being the same property conveyed to CHARLES MARION COPEN, by deed from Charles Milton Copen and Annie E. Copen, his wife, dated January 19, 1907, and recorded in Book 56, page 455.
