The size of the work having far exceeded the limits contemplated by the author, he find sit necessary either to expunge some of the matter, or to encrease the price to non subscribers;--the latter he preferred.--He is therefore extremely solicitous to be furnished with the names of those who are entitled to the benefit of the original proposals.--In two weeks the work will be put to press, and completed with all possible expedition. If a request is not sufficient to preserve it, A HANDSOME REWARD will be given to any person informing on those who may attempt to deface it. * * * * NOTICE. Will be Dissolved by mutual consent on the 1st day August next--Those indebted to said concern, are requested to come forward and settle their accounts with JOHN W. This land is about nine miles from Dumfries and 16 from Fredericksburg, supposed to be half in cultivation, and good repair--a large proportion of which is rich low grounds. There is also a good dwelling, and other necessary out-houses, which can be rendered, at a small expense, very convenient for a Tavern, being an excellent stand, and a distillery which is on the said land, now in order very near said dwelling--One half of the purchase money to be paid down, the balance in two equal annual payments--also, to be Sold on the same terms, 170 acres of land, lying in Fauquier County, adjoining the Land of Mr. CHAPMAN, within a small distance of his Mill (commonly called the THOROUGH FAIR MILL). To be sold at Public Sale, at Fauquier Court-House, on the Fourth Monday in August next, being Fauquier Court day, the following tracts land, to wit:--One Tract lying on Carter’s Run, in the said county, conveyed by HECTOR ROSS, to Mrs. HANNAH WASHINGTON of Fairfield, containing Four hundred and Eighty eight acres, more or less. One other Tract, lying on the Pignut Ridge in said county, containing One Hundred and Ninety-Six acres, more or less, and one other Tract lying on the Watry Mountain in the neighbourhood of Fauquier Court-House, containing (agreeable to a survey thereof, lately made by the county surveyor) 759 3 4 acres, more or less. The whole is the property of Mrs. WASHINGTON, of Fairfield, by whom, and for whose benefit, the subscribes are authorized to sell. A particular description of the land is thought unnecessary, as it is probable that purchaser would first wish to see it. Possession may be had of the two first tracts immediately, and of the Watry Mountain tract the 1st day of January next. TRIPLETT. TIMOTHY BRUNDIDGE, Post Master Dumfries, July 1, 1795 * * * * LANDS FOR SALE IN VIRGINIA. One tract of 1204 1-2 acres, in Hampshire county, divided into three surveys: one of 400 another of 400 1-2, and the other of 404, acres on the waters of Indian camp run, and little cape Capon, adjoining the lands of Mr. HUGH MURPHY and Colonel GREENFIELD, about one or two miles from the main road leading from Winchester to Romney; taken up and surveyed in the year 1777, and deeds granted for the same from the proprietor’s office in 1780--described to be equal to any land in that part of the country. Also one tract in Fauquier county, of 603 acres, well adapted for tobacco and all kinds of grain; about four miles from the court-house, joining the main road that leads from thence to Falmouth, from which it is distant about 30 miles, and the same from Dumfries, and about 40 miles from the Federal City and Georgetown. On it there is a large quantity of fine meadow land, and several fine springs and on Turkey Run a never failing stream, which runs through one corner of it just where it joins the main road, there is a fine situation for a merchant’s mill. Near one third part of this tract is cleared. IN THE STATE OF KENTUCKY, One tract of 1000 acres on STONER’s fork of Lickings granted in consequence of a preemption treasury warrant, issued in June 1870, and a patent granted for the same in June 1787, it was first in Fayette county, then in Bourbon; at present in Clark county, about 22 miles from Lexington, 12 or 14 from Bourbon court-house, and about 4 miles from Clark court-house, in a thick settled part of the country. General information says the quality is equal to any 1000 acres of land in that country. October 2, ‘95 * * * * The evident advantages which Agriculture, and Commerce, must receive, from the making good the navigation to the Town of Dumfries, the least discerning will not deny; all therefore who are any way interested in the property of this place, whether of the Town or Country, are earnestly requested to give their attendance, at Mr. SMOCK’s Tavern, on Saturday evening the 10th of October, to take into consideration the most probable means whereby to produce so desirable an object. Application will be made to the next General Assembly, to incorporate a company for the purpose of improving the navigation of Quantico Creek, and to establish a toll on vehicles navigating the said creek, and on country produce exported from this place. To the Public, As the Editor of the “Impartial Observer and Washington Advertiser,” intendes to devote one column of his paper to the publication of the blanks and prizes in Lottery No. II. Gentlemen holding tickets and anxious to know their fate, will, by subscribing to the Impartial Observer & c. receive regular and authentic copies of the drawing from day to day. It is said the Drawing will commence some time in September ‘95. The Printers in the United States are requested to publish the above advertisement, and receive such subscriptions as may offer. * * * * The Regimental Muster of the 36th Regiment will be held at JOHN RENNO’s on the third of next month. * * * * Was taken up by the subscriber, as a stray some time in June last a COW, of which the following are the marks and description:--In the right ear a crop with an under & over bit taken out--in the left, a crop & slit, with an under and over bit taken out. Of marks--She is of a dark brown, large and well-looking, about 10 or 11 years old, white belly and all her feet, a white streke on her rump bone to the root of her tail, lower end of the tail white...with a large white spot on her forehead.
