Biography of William T. Allison - Pulaski Co. VA Source: The Index to Pulaski County History in Hardesty's 1884 WILLIAM T. ALLISON--was born on Christmas Day, 1825, in Pulaski county, a son of James and Jane (CRAIG) ALLISON. In this county, March 6, 1857, he was joined in wedlock with Mary A. FARIS, who was born in Pulaski county, November 23, 1835; James and Martha (ALLISON) FARIS were her parents. Fifteen children were born to Mr. And Mrs. ALLISON, of whom ten are living: G. C., the oldest was born on Christmas Day, 1857, and is now deceased; D. C., was born January 15, 1859; C. II., August 28, 1860; R. J., February 25, 1862: Rosaltha, November 5, 1863, deceased; J. T., April 7, 1865, deceased: H. B., January 20, 1867; J. C., September 28, 1868; Mattie, December 5, 1869; J., March 5, 1871, deceased; Lilley G., March 1, 1874; W. C., June 10, 1875; F., February 9, 1877; E. J. F., July 4, 1879; baby boy, April 30, 1883. William T. ALLISON enlisted in Pulaski county in Company I, Thirty-Sixth Virginia Infantry. He went with his company to Richmond, where they were in camp drilling for some time, and then they went to Staunton. They took part in the battle of Floyds Mountain, and an honorable part in the succeeding campaign of the Shenandoah valley, including a number of heavy engagements. During this campaign Mr. ALLISON was made prisoner and sent to Fort Delaware where he was held until the cessation of hostilities.
