Biography of John Brown - Pulaski Co. VA Source: The Index to Pulaski County History in Hardesty's 1884 JOHN BROWN__ who was born in Pulaski county, October 13, 1809, son of Michael and Catherine BROWN, owns one of the finest farms in this county, at the head of what is known as Neck creek, which rises from one of those powerful limestone springs which are so abundant in Pulaski county. It is now in an excellent state of cultivation, and largely devoted to fruit-raising. The sons of Mr. BROWN have a first-class sawmill just below the spring on the farm, and a ready market for all the lumber they can manufacture. In Clark county, Ohio, March 25, 1841, John BROWN was united in marriage with Mary BLACK, born in Clark county, July 9, 1824, daughter of John and Elizabeth BLACK. Their children are two sons and three daughters, born: Nettie V., April 11, 1848; Elizabeth L., December 25, 1849; John M., November 6, 1851; Margaret B., September 10, 1853; Edward A., January 9, 1856.
