Biography of Thomas Q. Hall - Pulaski Co. VA THOMAS Q. HALL - was born in Carroll county, Virginia, September 9, 1843, a son of Reed C. and Julia A. (LUCAS) HALL. He entered the Confederate army in 1862, Twenty-Fifth Virginia Cavalry, W.E. JONES' Brigade, and afterward transferred to Joseph E. JOHNSTONS' Brigade, and he served the cause of the South until the end of the strife. Among the battles in which he took part were Gordonsville and Kelleys Farm. In Pulaski county, January 30, 1864, he married Mary S. PRATT, and to them have been born ten children: Leonard C., December 8, 1866; Joseph A. May 1, 1868; Julia E., October 14, 1870; Charles M., April 15, 1872; Sydney C. , February 9, 1874; Clyde Hall, August 6, 1875; Hattie J., April 5, 1877; Reed C., January 23, 1879; Sarah E., October 23, 1881; John D., June 23, 1883. Mary S. wife of Mr. HALL, was born in Pulaski county in 1844, a daughter of Madison and Elizabeth (FISHER) PRATT. Her parents are still honored residents in this county. After the war, Mr. HALL gave his attention to the business of wheelwright, in which he is a skilled workman, and he is also carrying on cabinet making, and is one of the steam saw mill firm known as the "Thorn Spring Manufacturing Company."
