Biography of Jacob Harris - Pulaski Co. VA


JACOB HARRIS - born in Bedford county, Virginia, July 15, 1816, has been for
more than half a century a resident in Pulaski county, having made his home
here in 1826. Here, on the 12th of May, 1841, Maria STEWART became his wife.
She was born in Wythe county, Virginia, January 14, 1823, and her death
occurred on the 16th of April, 1880. The birth and death record of their
children is: James C., born July 22, 1844, died November 24, 1867; Charles
A. born July 7, 1846, died January 24, 1869; Susan J., born October 7, 1849,
lives in Pulaski county; Albert J., born May 11, 1851, died September 11,
1873; Sarah A. (SUMMERS), born October 7, 1852, lives in Pulaski county;
Leota V., born March 11, 1869, lives at home with her father. Jacob HARRIS
has been many years engaged in milling, and his postoffice address is
Martins Station, Pulaski county, Virginia.
